Canadian Air

I know you all think we are in Florida, supposed to be, but the Canadian air found us. In the 40's last night. We didn't turn the furnace on, so it was 52 degrees in Moose when we got up. Hot cocoa and the furnace warmed us up in no time. Sun was out nice and bright so we read the newspaper on the beach to pick up a few rays.

After biking and me preparing a soup for the crock pot, we took off to shop and go to the movies. Saw "Martian Child" with John Cusak. Some reviews said it was too slow, I didn't think so. But of course Cusak is one of my favorite actors.

I decided since Hobbes is not eating any dry food, only the moist food once a day, that he needed more. He only weighs a little over 7lbs. All fur. So I increased it to 2 times a day. I only hope he doesn't go back to waking us at 5AM just to eat.

I need to thank Kristi our niece, for helping find out how to get the blog to people and how to post pictures. Anyone that knows me, realize I could not figure this out by myself. Especially office staff from FTMC.

A Chill in the Air

Election Day. Hope everyone remembered to vote. Even if you don't like candidates there are always issues that are important. We voted absentee before we left home.

We are in our second week on the road, feels strange to not have a house to take care of, Moose doesn't take long to clean. H doesn't seem to be missing work at all, can't imagine that. He has always been busy so this is strange.

Last night Hobbes jumped out the door when H opened it, of course it was dark, so I grabbed a spotlight and we both scrambled around looking for him. He was under our neighbors camper and did come to me, but that was really scary as there are too many places he could hide. There is a wooden fence behind us made of slats, he could have slipped thru there , we wouldn't have found him. Other campers told of a cat that got loose 2 years ago, it did come back but really beaten up either from other cats or a coyote. Spray bottle with water is now at the door, he gets sprayed any time he gets too close to door when it is open.

Today has been chilly, only in low 70's and windy. We went to the beach, read for about 3 hours until I was turning blue. But I guess I would really be blue back home with the snow flurries and all. I don't miss Ohio yet. Not sure if I will, but I know I will miss the people!!

I am going to practice putting pictures on my blog tonight, if you don't see pictures tomorrow, you'll know I didn't get it figured out. I wonder if they print a book "Blogging For Dummies"?

2nd week

Day 8
Beginning of second week. Guess what I still don't know how to do a blog. No one can find it at the address I gave them, so I e-mailed it to each person I know, which for me is probably easier. I spent a good part of today rewriting the material, publishing it then no one can find it.

Well I didn't really spend all that long. We went to the outer island and took our bikes. There is a really nice bike path that runs the length of the island that is open to the public. We didn't go the whole way, as we have not been biking on a regular basis, and we weren't ready to be in terrible pain. We biked about an hour.

When we returned I put the harness on Hobbes and took him down to beach, we sat in the swing as animals are not allowed on the beach. He loved it, I think he really just wanted to be in the fresh air. He walked part of the way back to Moose, but I had to carry him rest of the way.

Today is just another day in paradise. Sunny, sunny, sunny. It is cool at night but in the 70's during the day. Couldn't be more perfect.

Of course there are still the mundane things to do such as sweep, dust, clean the bathroom, and cook. H and I have an agreement, if I cook, he cleans up, and if he cooks, he still cleans up. No, no I do wash dishes once in a while. Speaking of cooking, mit is time to start supper.
