Today we got up early to leave Biloxi before traffic got heavy. We put the playpen in the back seat of truck so Hobbes would have more room and could walk around, we put the cover over the top so he can't get out. Guess what, he still meowed most of the trip. We stopped when we could to walk him, but there are no rest areas open along the coast (Rt 10) due to Katrina. When we stopped at truck stops he was too afraid of the trucks. When we stopped for lunch I gave him some of the natural sedative I bought. He won't eat his food if he smells it in it, so I had to pry open his mouth to put it in. It did not help. I finally put him on my lap. Spoiled baby was thrilled with that, he did not cry anymore.
We stopped at a restaurant in Louisiana, so we could get some real cajun cooking. I had a crawfish grilled sandwich and sweet potato fries, H had a grilled catfish sandwich and regular fries. We also got an order of alligator. I loved it all, we had enough for supper, too.
We thought we would stay in a Walmart parking lot here in Beaumont tonight, so we went to address in the book, after a half hour and lots of traffic in a very congested area, we came to it, only to see low bars hanging above the drives so anything higher than 12 foot could not enter. I called the Sam's Club (should have called the Walmart before we went) to find out if we could park there. Yea, a free night.
We decided a free night every other night on trip to California would help conserve our funds.
We have the generator running for a few hours but will shut it off soon, it makes a lot of noise, and we have another camper beside us.
I'm sure tomorrow will be another early day, we prefer to leave early then stop early in the PM.
