Christmas in January

Brother-in-law, Bob, playing the marble game. Son, Todd and daughter, Nikki.

H, me, and our grandchildren. We went home in January for a late Christmas get-together. We stayed at our daughter and son-in-law's home.

Doug opening a present. Ellery and Sam

H and I.

Jen, our daughter-in-law. H and I in the snow.
H turned 68 while we were there. Quite a lot of smoke, I'm surprised the smoke alarms did not go off.

My sister, Jackie.

Our son-in-law, Terry, who allowed us to stay for a week.

Something New

The shed, washer, dryer, and hot water heater are not new, but new to us. The shed is 6x10, 3 guys(OB, Lyle, and H) and myself loaded it on a trailer, brought it to our lot, then unloaded and tried to level it.
H and I brought over the rest of the things on a different trailer. Our neighbor, Rob, helped H drain the heater several times to get out the old water smell. H and I put everything in the shed and leveled them. The next day we went to Home Depot to get all the plumbing and electrical supplies we needed to hook everything up. Took H almost all day to do the plumbing and electrical work. Last evening I did a load of wash. Great to be able to stay here and do it, rather than a laundromat.
Last evening we kept smelling something, couldn't quite place what, sort of like sewer, but more like a propane leak. We checked everything over last night then again today. Sprayed for leaks, took tanks in and out. This afternoon, H finally found what it was, one of our batteries is boiling hot. Thankful it did not explode. It is out of the 5th wheel now so it will cool off. I suppose this means a new battery.

San Diego Over the Weekend

We went to San Diego on Friday to see Christa and Bart. Weather was absolutely beautiful, in the 80's. On Saturday we had lunch at a golf course, pretty view from all angles.

This picture was taken on their back patio. Bart, Christa, me, and H.

Bingo

H finally talked me into playing bingo tonight, he thought my luck at cards would carry over to bingo. On the way there, he started to pull out in front of a car he didn't see, I yelled and stopped him, whew! I guess I used up my luck there, we didn't win at bingo. I would say that his not seeing the car is partly because it is a frontage road right next to Rt. 8, and the lights from Rt. 8 and the frontage road do blend together. I think now he will check twice before turning, especially after dark.
