Austin

Ray, Grandma, and Valerie.

Thursday we went to Austin to see Valerie(Connie's youngest daughter) and her husband Ray. We had a really good visit, they took us to lunch at Carinos(Italian) and Mom, who is never hungry ate a big piece of Lasagna and bread. Thursday was rainy and cold. It was 84 on Wednesday and 40 on Thursday. Spring in Texas is as volatile as Ohio . Now today started out cool and is still windy, but much warmer. H and I are sitting outside reading. Mom thinks the air is still too cool. Of course we don't want her getting sick, so she is inside reading.

San Antonio

My sister, Connie, and Mom.

Wednesday we went to San Antonio to visit with Connie. We had lunch with her, which was excellent, Connie is a very good cook, then H and I went downtown so Mom and Connie could visit. I'm glad Mom is getting to see everyone. Still have not seen Joseph, one of Mom's great children.

H and I went to the Alamo and Riverwalk, though we were careful of the time, didn't want to get caught in the rush hour traffic. Mom has been to those areas several times, but we would like to take her back and maybe do the boat tour on the river.

We went to visit Michelle and her family up in Round Rock, Texas on Tuesday, the weather was great and we had a wonderful day. Her daughters are 4 and 7, very smart and funny. They really took to H, had him playing games and building houses. Grandma had a good visit with them.

Shari and David

Shari, Grandma, and David.
Again.

We left Saturday AM and drove to Arlington, near Dallas, to see Shari and David. Shari is middle child of Connie, my oldest sister. Shari kindly invited us to stay overnight in their beautiful house. They own Baskin Robbins franchises, so they work 7 days a week. We had a really good time. I am so glad Mom came back to Texas with me to see her grandchildren that she seldom gets to see.

On the way back from Arlington we stopped at a Cracker Barrel for lunch then at a Cabelas so Mom could see all the animals that they have on display. We are all ready for a nap.

H in Texas.

These were taken while I was in Ohio, he and friends put puzzles together, he went to Smithville to visit his cousin who was down from Illinois, and he spent time with the cat.

Mom and I arrived from Ohio on Friday night about midnight, we were about 45 minutes late, as we had to wait in Cleveland for a flight attentant. Though it is a really quick flight, less than 3 hours.

Ohio

Well I am finally getting better. My cough is not keeping me awake all night and I am breathing easier. Just in time to go back to Texas. Staying with the kids has been fun most of the time. Would have been better if I had felt like playing games. I did play several ping pong games with Griffin, but I was no challenge for him. Ellery went to a Christian concert last night and got home about 2250, by the time she got to bed it was late. She did not want to get up this morning. Can't say as I blame her, I am not a morning person either. Griffin gets up every morning during the week at 0600 so he can read. Everyone is different.

The weather here has not bothered me too much, though this AM is dreary and not sunny like it has been. I don't really mind the cold as long as the wind doesn't blow. Those wind chills are what get you. Ohio has it's beautiful moments. I love the spring and the autumn.

H seems to be doing alright without me in Texas, he went on Saturday to visit with cousins who are visiting in Smithville, TX. He took the Wii, and they had a good time playing all the games we had.

Back in Ohio

I returned to Ohio on the 19th to stay with 2 of our grandchildren while our daughter and son-in-law went on a private cruise. It has been a chilly visit. O degrees this AM, but went up to 27 by afternoon. Tonight we have a winter weather advisory with snow followed by freezing rain possible tomorrow AM. I nee to be back where it is warm. Too bad I can't just pack the kids up and take them with me. School might be upset with that. Besides it being cold here, I was ill when I came. I went to see the nurse practitioner the day after I arrived, am now on Levaquin and Prednisone, feeling better but had nearly lost my voice today. Maybe I was talking too much. Tomorrow I am staying here at the house, doing laundry and cleaning and hopefully a nap. The kids might have a snow day, so I will have help with cleaning.

I have taken advantage of being home, the taxes are done and I can pick them up next week. I hope to talk with some high school classmates to see what is on the agenda for this years class reunion. I won't say how many years, but since I am retired you can probably guess pretty close.

No pictures today, I left my camera in Texas, I will borrow Elle's camera, hopefully I will be able to work it.
